Wellways, within the North Queensland, Mackay region, offers our young people in care the opportunity to obtain skills for life, independence and become engaged members of the community whilst in a supportive environment. We achieve these goals together by supporting and working with our youth, their families, and the community to help them imagine and achieve better lives.
About this role:
The Team Leader in our Youth Care program acts as a role model and mentor for trauma-informed care and provides direct management and supervision of a dedicated team of Youth Workers. In addition to these leadership and supervisory responsibilities, the Youth Care program Team Leader provides case management and coordination for a small caseload of young people ensuring all services delivered are in accordance with their care plan and within budget.
About you:
You will be motivated with a genuine interest in working with young people in need. You will have highly developed trauma informed skills with experience in program delivery utilising effective systems and processes.
Your ability to support and manage the work of a multidisciplinary team, along with excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative working style is essential in this role.

What you need:
- Minimum Certificate 4 in a recognised area or must be actively working towards a qualification
- Driver's License
- Police clearance - less than 12 months old
- Blue Card (Current - no card no start policy applies)
- NDIS Workers Screening Check/Yellow Card (Current - no card no start policy applies)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Completed Hope and Healing Framework Foundation Training - this will be supplied by Wellways if needed
- First Aid certificate- less than 12 months old
Desirable:
- Experience working with youth/trauma/complex needs
- Demonstrated Team Leadership skills
- Excellent administration skills
- Mental Health experience
