We are currently seeking for an experienced Assistant Accountant / Asset Administrator to join our Finance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a highly successful and growing construction business that has a full workbook and delivers exciting and technical projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in Administrator & finance and possess relevant accountant qualifications.

The Assistant Accountant / Asset Administrator plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of the company. Responsibilities include assisting in posting general ledgers and subsidiary ledgers, contributing to various aspects of management accounting, and taking ownership of the effective and efficient operation of day-to-day accounting functions such as bank reconciliations, bank drawdowns, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset management and statutory compliance. Additionally, the Assistant Accountant / Asset Administrator assists with financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all tasks to support the organisation's financial health and compliance requirements.

The Assistant Accountant / Asset Administrator duties include but are not limited to:

• Ensure all accounts payable processes are completed accurately, in accordance with company policies and in a timely manner.

• Reconcile the general ledger accounts each month and prompt resolution of reconciling items.

• Assist with the preparation of BAS returns to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

• Maintain the assets register master sheet and prepare depreciation worksheet and journals as required.

• Help with preparing monthly and annual financial accounts.

• Generate rental, delivery, and management charge invoices regularly for asset usage. Ensure prompt collection of invoices and promptly resolve any disputes that may arise.

• Assist Plant and Equipment Manager in procurement of assets and maintain and reconcile the asset register.

• Assist in the annual budget process and liaise with the appropriate internal stakeholders.

• Complete bank reconciliations for all operating accounts daily. Reconcile intercompany related P&L and Balance sheet item at a monthly basis.

• Assist the Finance Team with reporting and other ad-hoc tasks as required.

The ideal applicant will possess:

• Full-time working rights in Australia.

• Minimum 5. years’ experience in Administration and finance.

• A qualification in accounting is preferrable.

• Proficiency with of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel.

• Knowledge of MYOB accounting system is preferred.

• Must have strong high attention to details.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
