Business Administration Officer
Better Volt Solar + Batteries requires an administration officer with excellent customer service, strong organisational, time management and problem-solving skills with an ability to work towards collective goals.
About the Company- Better Volt Solar + Batteries
We are based in Dorrigo with 4 installation crew members and the business owner who is an accredited solar and battery system designer.
We design and install high-quality solar and battery systems to reduce power bills or provide battery backup for both On-Grid and Off-The-Grid applications. We take pride in providing our clients with timely ongoing support after installation.
We are located in the industrial area with a warehouse and a small office space.
The Position
As an Administrative Officer you will be taking duties from the business owner, starting with basic administration tasks and then growing into a more senior administrative role as your skills grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Scheduling jobs with installers and customers
- Ordering and receipting stock into the warehouse
- Processing grid connection applications and paperwork for clients
- Packing & unpacking trailers, cleaning up, driving a forklift
- Managing social media accounts
- Light cleaning duties around the warehouse / office
Working hours
Starting with 3 days a week trial period for 3 months. Actual days and hours are flexible, the right candidate will grow within the role and expand their time to a potential ¾ or full time role over coming years.

Starting @ $32 per hour on a permanent part-time contract with a trial period of 12 weeks.
Long term could see a ¾ or full time role offered with greater responsibilities and matching compensation.
Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria:
- Strong computer skills (Mac OS, Excel / Google sheets, plus other web based platforms)
- Customer focused service skills both on the phone and in person
- Personal organisation with digital products and an ability to work to a deadline
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks
- Be able to work independently but also as part of a team
- Be a problem solver with a desire to upskill
- A desire to learn all the technical and practical considerations of solar and battery systems, from their design to installation and ongoing monitoring - accredited training will be provided.
Desirable Criteria:
- A genuine interest in the world's transformation from fossil fuels to the “electrification of everything”
- Preferably you live close to the Dorrigo township
- A desire to grow within this role for the long term
- Experience in administration or a similar role
- Knowledge of social media marketing
- Video recording/editing
