About the Role
We have an exciting part time opportunity for a HR Generalist to join our team onsite 3-days per week, with the potential to increase to full time as our business grows.
Our HR Generalist is a stand-alone role and would be well suited to someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and undertaking a wide variety of generalist tasks within the employee lifecycle.
About the You
The successful applicant will be part of the Executive Team and report directly to the CEO.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Be the initial point of contact for the CEO, Managers and team members regarding HR information processes, policies, programs and practices
- Provide sound and best practice generalist advice
- Manage and maintain the online HRIS, Employment Hero
- Responsibility for the work health and safety management system
- Recruitment and employee induction and on boarding activities, as required
- Policy creation and review to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
- Assist management with performance reviews and management of staff
- Assist management to lead, coach and develop staff to enhance capabilities and improve performance
- Conduct face to face training sessions on various legislative topics
- Assist management with handling employee issues including, performance management, grievances, staff support and wellbeing, industrial relations, agreements and/or Modern Awards, terminations
- Develop, implement and manage a HR key events calendar
- Manage and maintain all HR administration.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 4 years experience in HR Generalist position
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- Prior experience working in a blue / white collar SME environment is highly regarded
- Working knowledge and experience with the HRIS platform Employment Hero is a must
- Demonstrated safety conscious mindset with experience overseeing work health and safety matters including an understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act, Regulations and associated codes of practice and guidelines
- Determined, results-oriented, and "hands-on" approach
- Ability to interpret and advise on Modern Awards, IR, legislation and regulations combined with knowledge of contemporary HR trends and practices
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Proven ability to create, review and interpret organisational policies and procedures and Employment Agreements to ensure compliance with Australian employment laws and regulations
- High level communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills at all levels within the business
- A result orientated outlook, along with the ability to operate autonomously and problem solve
- Highly articulate with exceptional written and presentation skills
- Ability to problem solve, manage deadlines, and prioritise work
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, work independently, and following through on projects
- Current drivers Licence
