About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Pet Care & Animal Attendant to join a passionate team of animal-lovers at our Airport Pet Hotel located in Mascot, Sydney.
This is a PERMANENT PART-TIME role required to work EVERY WEEKEND , plus one weekday each week ( 22.5 hours across 3 shifts), and may be required to flex up to 38 hours per week during peak periods such as school holidays/Easter/Christmas.

This role is responsible for the provision of high quality pet welfare and care for both boarding pet guests and doggy daycare guests which includes cleaning kennels, feeding pets, basic washing/grooming and enrichment/exercising of pets. Our Pet Care & Animal Attendants also provide excellent customer service when engaging with our clients at pick up and drop off.
Working on a fortnightly rotating roster , this role is required to work a variety of 7.5 hour shifts between 7am-3pm; 8am-4pm; and 9am to 5pm as follows:
1. Friday, Saturday, Sunday
2. Saturday, Sunday, Monday
About You
You are reliable , motivated and have at least 18 months' experience working in boarding kennels/catteries/vet clinics/doggy daycares . To be a high performer in this role, you will also be:
- Available for 22.5 hours of rostered shifts normally.
- An experienced driver holding an unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence with a clean driving history and your own car .
- Available to work EVERY weekend and up to 38 hours/week in school holidays/Easter/Christmas.
- Have the flexibility to cover other unplanned absences at short notice from time to time.
- Prepared to jump at the chance to help others in your team.
- Able to work at a brisk pace and carry out tasks to required timeframes.
- Able to work independently and unsupervised , and willing to ask for guidance for more complex matters.
- Passionate about companion animals .
- A good communicator and positive person who enjoys teamwork .
- Certified/qualified in animal studies and/or companion animal services (preferred).
- Committed to working safely , and following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Willing and able to adhere to Hanrob Pet Hotels' operating procedures and Work Health & Safety requirements at all times.
IMPORTANT: This is an active and physical role working across the Pet Hotel. The incumbent will be required to work indoors and outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions), and in close proximity to cats and dogs, on their feet for a significant portion of their day. They must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, squat, reach, stretch, and restrain animals up to 50kg on leads, communicate, speak, and interact with team members, customers, internal and external stakeholders, and members of the public in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
