THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrical Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and components to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The position involves traveling to various sites to provide on-site support and maintenance, offering a dynamic and varied working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support our main site in Wetherill Park with various breakdowns and preventative maintenance
- Travel to our remote sites across NSW when needed to perform installations, repairs and maintenance as required
- Assemble, install, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment - including some mechanical components as part of the system
- Interpret technical drawings, instructions, and specifications to complete tasks accurately.
- Test electrical systems using various tools to ensure safety and compliance with Australian Standards
- Diagnose and rectify faults in electrical components and systems.
- Conduct regular maintenance to minimize downtime and enhance system performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, replacements, and testing results.
Skills and Qualifications
- Electrical License (registered to perform work in NSW)
- Proven experience in electrical fitting, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong understanding of electrical circuits, systems, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and regulations (e.g., AS/NZS 3000).
- Proficient in using electrical tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel to various sites, with flexibility for overnight stays if required.
- Valid driver's license.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in industrial, mining, or manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Additional certifications, such as Working at Heights or High-Risk Work License.(company will support the preferred candidate to obtain where there are gaps)
