About the Role
The Junior Media Analyst role works within the Insights team at Streem, which is responsible for producing bespoke one-off, monthly, quarterly reports for our Communications clients. These reports are typically used by clients to inform their communication strategy, report on performance and are typically shared with C-suite executives and Board members. The Junior Media Analyst are responsible for supporting the Media Analyst team with the report production process, including query writing, sentiment coding, data management and charting.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Working as part of a wider Insights team on Media Analysis reports for a variety of Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers
- Reading and rating media coverage for sentiment
- Supporting Media Analysts with setting up data searches/queries for data extraction
- Supporting Media Analysts with designing report templates for new customers
- Creating and updating charts with our data visualisation tools
- Working with Media Analysts in analysing coverage and identifying key findings for our clients
- Working with Media Analysts in writing key Insights and executive summaries
- Taking part in team activities such as report retrospective meetings
- Working collaboratively with other teams from time to time on key business projects, such as Account Management, Sales, the Leadership Team and Product
- Other duties as determined by Streem from time to time

Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
- Australian permanent residency or an Australian citizen
- Attained Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the following disciplines: Media, Communications, Marketing, Business
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience a plus
- Proactive and enjoys a fast-paced environment
- Have a keen interest in the Australian media landscape
- Positive can-do attitude, energetic, and media-savvy
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines while maintaining a sharp attention to detail
- Able to think critically – look at numbers, trends, and data and come to conclusions based on the findings
Desirable Experience
- Proficient in using Google Suite (sheets, slides), Microsoft Excel, pivot tables, Vlookup, Powerpoint
- Excellent report writing skills, with experience in both qualitative and quantitative reporting
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with Boolean queries is a plus
