Description:
The Aruga Account Manager position plays an important central role by managing and executing public relations and marketing campaigns and maintaining positive relationships with both clients and the media.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Public Relations
• Delivering strategic, innovative and well-organised communication campaigns;
• Providing strategic counsel to clients to aid their PR and wider marketing campaigns;
• Researching and developing story angles in a cross section of print, broadcast and online media;
• Developing media materials, and reviewing and advising on materials prepared by others;
• Reviewing and and/or developing media lists;
• Identifying pitching opportunities and capitalising on media and influencer opportunities;
• Pitching angles and generating earned and sponsored media coverage that meets clients’ objectives;
• Arranging interviews and editorial meetings with key journalists for clients’ spokespeople - in person or over the phone - and facilitating these meetings where appropriate;
• Liaising with key media contacts and maintaining strong relationships with media, and staying intimately informed of the Australian media landscape;
• Monitoring, reporting and evaluating campaign success and adjusting when necessary.
Marketing & Content
• Delivering strategic, innovative and well-organised marketing plans for clients;
• Overseeing and assisting with the development and execution of social media campaigns;
• Reviewing and/or developing social media posts, content calendars and content proposals;
• Monitoring analytics and day-to-day social activity for assigned social media accounts;
• Creating analytics recap reports and adjusting campaigns when necessary.
Account Management
• Managing day-to-day activities for assigned clients including: researching, planning, implementing and evaluating scope of works, paying careful attention to budgets,
resources, deadlines and client records;
• Proactively developing and cultivating relationships with clients;
• Running weekly calls and meetings with assigned clients and developing agendas and post meeting notes;
• Mentoring and managing Accounts Coordinators and Senior Account Executives and Account Executives;
• Ensuring that Team Lead and Agency Director are kept fully informed on activities of team, media and clients;
• Maintaining clear and consistent communication between the client and the account team;
• Researching and monitoring clients’ businesses and industries to stay up to date;
• Operating time-sheeting efficiently and tracking all time;
• Being open and responding positively to feedback;
• Delivering work prior to or on deadline;
• Displaying the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure;
• Respectfully taking direction from Account Directors and Agency Partners.
