About The Role

We're looking for a PORU Communicator to be at the forefront of our dynamic team, ensuring clear and effective communication during operations and supporting the overall mission of the PORU.

You’ll work closely with the PORU Team Leader, K9 Handler, and other team members to maintain seamless communication during public order operations. Your role will involve conducting initial security assessments, managing communication equipment, coordinating with the Management Team and external stakeholders, and taking charge of investigations and reporting.

Your mission will be to facilitate smooth and efficient operations while prioritising public safety and community engagement. You will lead by example, championing NHG’s vision, mission, and values to ensure every team member is aligned with our goals.

About You

You are a veteran or a senior security professional with extensive experience in security operations, people management, or law enforcement. Your background may include service in the Defence Force, Police, or correctional services, and you understand the critical importance of clear and effective communication in maintaining public order and safety.

You never let a challenge go unanswered. Whether managing communication systems, coordinating with stakeholders, or handling investigations, you are always on your game and committed to finding solutions.

You love working with people and fostering their growth. You’re passionate about public safety and community engagement and know how to create strategies that ensure seamless, efficient, and effective operations.

You are meticulous in your approach to reporting and thrive on data and metrics. You excel in creating detailed, accurate reports that inform strategic decisions and drive improvements. Your insights help ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Your Role & Responsibilities

Operational Communication and Coordination:

  • Act as the primary channel for internal and external communications during PORU operations.
  • Ensure clear and concise communication between team members and external stakeholders.
  • Manage communication equipment and logs.

Security Assessments and Reporting:

  • Conducted initial security assessments and take charge of reporting
  • Maintain comprehensive records of engagements and report to the Management Team.

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the PORU Management Team and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with operational plans.

Community Engagement and Public Safety:

  • Foster a positive relationship with the community and ensure public safety through effective communication and engagement strategies.

Experience Required

  • Extensive experience in security operations and communication roles, preferably as a Defence Force veteran or a senior security professional.
  • Proven expertise in managing communication systems and equipment.
  • Experience in conducting security assessments and investigations.
  • Strong understanding of public safety and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Practical experience in leading significant projects and change management initiatives.
  • Background in law enforcement, correctional services, or other fields is highly desirable.
