This incredibly rewarding and fulfilling role requires that you work with the school community to reach the goals of its students and families. You will be working in small class sizes with children with mild to severe disabilities of all kinds.Your training and experience will be highly valued, you will combine this knowledge with that of other professionals as you combine to work as a team with the education staff to reach joint goals.
Working with the school community you will rely heavily in the implementation Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) particularly Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP).
This role is considered a non-clinical role as there will be little to no one on one therapy. You will have to however draw on your clinical skills and knowledge on a daily basis and potentially liaise with third party allied health professionals.
