Position: Full Time Chef
Location: Blaxland NSW 2774
Salary: $72000- $76000 per annum plus Superannuation
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, knowledge of Indian cuisine, Ingredients and cooking techniques
- Certificate III and IV in Commercial Cookery and Diploma of Hospitality Management would also be highly regarded
- Proficient use of Tandoori Oven
- A high attention to details, initiative to get job done and desire to learn more and grow with a business
- Prepare and serve items of our menu to a high standard
- Ability to plan menus for different cultural/dietary/allergen/requirements
- Ability to manage a small team of cooks and work as part of team to create a safe and friendly work environment
- Must be able to work on rotating Roster as well as work on weekends and public holidays
- Ensure that perishable items are stored in safe and hygienic manner.in accordance with food safety standard
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to cultivate strong relationship in a team-based environment
Tasks and Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Design and update a menu inspired by traditional Indian cuisine
- Create diverse menu options that include vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes to cater to different dietary needs.
- Use fresh, high-quality ingredients to ensure great taste, presentation, and value.
- Oversee food preparation to maintain the consistency in quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes.
- Manage stock and inventory to ensure key ingredients like spices, herbs, meats, and vegetables are always available.
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff, focusing on food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Train staff on Indian cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
- Monitor kitchen costs, control portions, and work to reduce food waste.
- Collect and use customer feedback to improve the dining experience.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and safe.
