About the role

Are you passionate about the future of water and wastewater services in the City of Coffs Harbour? We are looking for a motivated Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact on sustainable water resource management.

As a Planning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the future infrastructure of the City through the application of the City's Strategic Master Plans for Water and Wastewater. You will develop and implement innovative strategies that align with the DCCEEW Regulatory Assurance Framework, creating long-term financial plans and operational strategies for our water and wastewater systems. You will ensure best practices in Water & Wastewater Management Plans, conduct network analyses using advanced infrastructure models, and collaborate with various City sections to develop effective maintenance strategies.

Your responsibilities will also include preparing policies, reviewing development applications, and managing relationships with government agencies and consultants. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to prepare grant applications to secure vital project funding and further your project management skills through the management of capital infrastructure projects.

About you?

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, water resources, or equivalent related disciplines.
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of corporate management regulatory frameworks, risk management, statutory requirements, and best practice as it relates to asset management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in Water and Wastewater Asset Management, with a high-level of computer literacy and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Starting salary from $106,907.09 + Civil Liability Allowance of 3.5% + travelling allowance as applicable + 11.5% superannuation
