About the Role
We are seeking a friendly & professional Food & Beverage Manager to join our amazing team at The Palm. This opportunity will be responsible for leading and training The Palm team to deliver fantastic service whilst maintaining a high quality of food and beverage produced. You will also be active in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the venue as well as overseeing all cleaning and sanitation involved in production and service.
Key Accountabilities
- Manage front and back of house responsibilities, till and POS station, company platforms, and lead the team in creating a positive and harmonious atmosphere.
- Ensure a consistently excellent customer experience.
- Deal with customer complaints and escalate to the supervisor if necessary.
- Effective time management skills ensuring all daily responsibilities are completed in a timely manner and utilising spare time proactively.
- Excellent communication skills ensuring that appropriate information is channelled correctly to customers.
- Ensure the shop is kept in a clean and tidy state.
- Ensure all produce is used to its full potential and wastage is maintained at a minimum.
- Ensure the quality and flavour of our food is maintained to the highest standard.
- Comply with, and ensure customers comply with RSA and RCG regulations.
- Preparation of beverage, ensuring quality of product served.
About You
- Proven capability to manage multiple staff members and an ability to give constructive feedback when required.
- Demonstrated cooking and food preparation experience.
- Ability to identify problem areas and to use initiative and effective communication skills to resolve these issues.
- Current RSA and RCG accreditation.
- Food Safety Supervisor or Food Safety Training Accreditation.
- Knowledge of HACCP and an understanding of how it relates to our Food Safety Program.
- Demonstrated understanding of budgets and cost control with strong administrative skills
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting when accepting deliveries, unpacking stock, cleaning and/or moving furniture
- Operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment / cookers / dishwashers
- Frequent use of muscular force, bending, twisting and stretching when unpacking stock, cooking and cleaning
- Frequent walking and standing in the bar and/or kitchen
