Bring your high-level technical skills and methodical and collaborative work style to the Data and Analytics team in DTET and help us to contribute to the important work of training Queenslanders now and into the future.Working closely with the Manager, Business Intelligence and Customer Reporting (BICR), the Data Analyst contributes to the maintenance, development and implementation of various performance reporting methods and systems to monitor and project performance data pertaining to the topics of employment, small business and vocational education and training (VET).
About The Role
As the Data Analyst, you will:
- Create analytic outputs using contemporary information management and business intelligence methods to inform evidence-based decision making and drive the delivery of trade, employment and VET services and projects.
- Review and quality assure outputs of data analysis and models to present departmental data and statistics in an accessible and user-friendly manner for distribution to internal and external clients and customers.
- Work with stakeholders to translate their needs into high quality, contemporary reporting products and revise reporting methods/systems to meet performance measurement requirements and provide accurate, reliable information to decision makers, managers and planners at departmental, State and Commonwealth government levels.
- Develop and implement high-quality documentation, data collection protocols and associated business rules for the collection storage and presentation of data.
The position requires an applicant who can:
- Demonstrated methodical approach to review and quality assure analytic outputs, with experience in collecting, analysing, integrating, and modelling complex and diverse data sets to generate insights for a wide range of different topics.
- Experience in building data solutions and tailoring for different audiences or requirements across professional performance monitoring and reporting functions, with the ability to understand how own work contributes to organisational goals.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills to recommend innovate analytic approaches for stakeholders and inform decision-making, ensuring accurate and timely outputs.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and sustain positive relationships and consult, negotiate, liaise and influence others to achieve mutually beneficial solutions and provide advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
