We are currently seeking an experienced full time Draftsperson to join our growing operations team based in Osborne Park. Reporting to the Drafting & Approvals Manager, this position will see you join a tight knit drafting team, and work closely with the wider operations teams to see clients through from pre-site through to the construction phase of their building journey.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in all aspects of drafting in the residential construction industry, strong technical knowledge and a friendly, can do attitude to contribute to the wider team.
The Role
Major accountabilities include:
• Oversees and check the work of the drawing office tea, providing specialist technical advice and support to other team members including undertaking reviews of design work. This includes ensuring robust change management and quality assurance processes and systems are in place to maintain the integrity of all CAD information in line with relevant Australian building standards and codes.
• Prepares drawings and plans for construction and fabrication of new homes using CAD technology and applications.
• Manages the standardisation of the CAD component library and updates drawings relevant to building and construction designs. Communicates any changes and updates to the drawing office team.
• Contributes to new building and construction design solutions to deliver custom building solutions for clients.
• Liaises with the various business units to ensure drawing office resources are included in relevant plans to deliver building design solutions.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role;
• As a minimum; Certificate IV in Residential Drafting or equivalent;
• Experience in the WA Building industry ;
• Experience in checking working drawings, engineer’s details and completing contract variations;
• High level of attention to detail;
• ArchiCAD Experience (essential);
• Good administrative and communication skills;
• Ability to work within a team and autonomously;
• Ability to manage jobs from start to finish;
