About the Business Unit:

Corrections Victoria is responsible for the direction, management and operation of Victoria's prison system and Post Sentence Scheme. As a service agency within the Department of Justice & Community Safety (DJCS), Corrections Victoria develops and implements policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.

About the Role:

The Administration Team Leader supervises a team of Justice Officers within the Prison Services program area of the Department of Justice & Community Safety. The role requires a strong focus on ensuring the Justice Officer workforce are suitably skilled and trained to deliver quality services. The role also requires a high degree of integrity, effective communication skills, an ability to resolve competing demands, problem-solving skills as well as an ability to monitor service delivery and compliance.

This position may require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Supervising and leading a team of Justice Officers, to ensure effective delivery of operational support, reception and administrative services for the Loddon Mallee Region
  • Providing team leadership, including mentoring, professional development and performance management and identifying training needs to develop staff capability and skills
  • Maintaining appropriate staffing levels to ensure uninterrupted and cost-effective services to the location.

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Well-developed computer literacy
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
  • Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary service delivery team would be advantageous.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A current driver's licence would be desirable.
