About the Business Unit:
The Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954-bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice and Community Safety.
At the Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC), each Justice Officer role specialises in one of five streams Records/Property, Human Resources, Stores/Canteen, Infrastructure/Technology/Finance and Administration. Over time, and with appropriate support and training, Justice Officers may be rotated between these streams to provide career enhancement opportunities to those staff, and operational flexibility to the prison.
About the Role:
In the role of Justice Officer - Offender Services, some of your duties will include:
* Working within a multidisciplinary team to contribute to the holistic management of prisoners at the MRC, including supporting community transition, monitoring, and encouraging program involvement and contributing to community referral for post release issues
* Under direction, providing individual assessments and referrals which are responsive to individual prisoner needs
* Under direction, facilitating group prisoner orientation sessions and information sessions.

* Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Experience in or understanding of working within a Correctional environment
