Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles. We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.
About the Role:
Exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic psychologist to join the HOPE Team within Northern Health’s Mental Health Division. Located in Mill Park.
The HOPE program is a multidisciplinary team made up of clinicians, psychosocial support workers and Peer/Carer Lived experience workforce alongside the HOPE Consultant Psychiatrist.
The HOPE team is a supportive and dynamic team of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers.
We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government areas of Merri Bek and Hume.
This position is ongoing part time position working 48 hours per fortnight.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Regstered with AHPRA and endorsed as a clinical psychologist.
- Experience in delivering evidenced based brief intervention and psychoeducaiton on risk factors assosciated with suicidality.
- Experience in the provision of mental health assessment and intervention for consumers - preferably in a public mental health setting but this is not essential
- Ability to provide general and discipline specific mental health assessment and intervention
- Ability to work as part of a team but also able to work autonomously
- Passion about contributing positively to the lives of consumers experiencing suicidal ideation precipitated by psychosocial stressors and their families
