An exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Finance to join our Finance team in Townsville on a full time, permanent basis.
Reporting to the Financial Accountant, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing leadership and management to the finance team.
Some of your primary responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Controlling administrative operations such as report preparation, expenditure on supplies, equipment and services;
- Providing overall direction and management for the team;
- Oversee training and supervision of staff;
- Collecting and analysing data associated with projects undertaken and reporting on project outcomes;
- Support the Financial Accountant or delegate on matters requiring attention and implementing their decisions
- Keeping financial records and maintaining and balancing accounts using manual and computerised systems;
- Compiling cost data for preparation of operating budgets, and profit and loss calculations; and
- Preparation of year end and or grant acquittal audit activities including reconciliations.
To be considered, you must have demonstrated experience in a similar Finance role . It is important you be confident in your ability to manage and supervise activities and resources, both financial and human, of a small finance team.The successful candidate will be organised and have high level time management skills, allowing you to meet strict deadlines and prioritise tasks.
NWRH is seeking a candidate with high level communication skills, with the ability to operate both independently, and participate in a multidisciplinary team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required for this role particularly in Excel, Outlook and Word.
As the Finance Team Leader, it is essential you have demonstrated experience in administration of contracts and the application of accounting procedures including processing creditors to payment stage, reconciliation procedures, BAS returns and payroll.
In addition, you'll have the ability to interpret relevant awards and legislation and be proficient in all end of month and end of financial year and audit procedures.
While not essential, experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or experience with accounting software package Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, will be highly regarded.
