We have a rare opportunity for a HR Projects & Remuneration Business Partner to join our thriving People & Culture team, based in Milton . This role is vital to the success of the People & Culture strategy, driving fair and industry competitive remuneration practices through dependable and detailed reporting. It provides essential data-driven insights that guide strategic HR and business decisions, significantly influencing remuneration planning, policy creation, and stakeholder engagement.
Reporting to the Executive General Manager - People and Culture, you will support both ongoing and project-driven remuneration activities, oversee the development of detailed reports, and provide expert guidance to Line Management on remuneration matters. You will also play an active role in various HR strategic projects across multiple HR functions as required.
What you’ll do
- Deliver advice on all remuneration activities, leading the operational execution of the annual remuneration review process. This encompasses managing data collection, data cleansing, analysis, calibration, reporting, HRIS updates, and ensuring clear and impactful communication of outcomes.
- Assess and manage the development of HR analytics tools and processes, pinpointing opportunities for automation and enhanced efficiency.

What we’re looking for…
You’re a critical thinker with experience managing the process of large-scale remuneration cycles. You enjoy collaborating across a range of functions and are comfortable working with complex data and systems, ensuring data accuracy, confidentiality, compliance and continuous improvement on key remuneration activities. Some other key skills and experience we’re hoping to see:
- Demonstrated experience advising on position grading and benchmarking. Mercer/Korn Ferry methodologies advantageous.
- A People & Culture background with the ability to support ad-hoc P&C projects, collaborating with a variety of teams including Finance, P&C and Downer Group.
- A growth mindset, with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Power BI & Microsoft Excel skills – intermediate to advanced coupled with the innate ability to take control of your own upskilling and troubleshoot technical obstacles accordingly.
