We are looking for a talented and experienced Marine Welder (Aluminium Specialist) to join our team. The successful applicant will become part of our Cairns team, enjoying competitive pay and full penalty rates. About this Role:
- Fabrication of new aluminium structures
- Deck repairs and replacements
- Watertight door and hatch installations
- Working with pipes, tanks, and other aluminium components
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing high-quality aluminium welds using various techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG)
- Ensuring welds meet stringent quality standards and classification society requirements
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings
- Following safe work practices and adhering to all safety protocols
- Contributing to a positive and productive team environment
- Working independently and as part of a team on various projects
To be Successful in this role you will need
- Proven experience as a marine welder
- Demonstrated expertise in aluminium welding using TIG and MIG processes
- A strong understanding of relevant welding codes and standards AS1665 & AS1664-1 – Australian Aluminium Standard
- Experience working in a shipyard or marine environment is a strong preference
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
