We now have the opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our Finance team.

About the role

Reporting to the CFO, the Financial Controller will lead the finance function, delivering high-quality financial services and governance for Tennis Australia (TA) and its state-based Member Associations (MAs). This is a strategic leadership role, ensuring financial operations run seamlessly while fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and oversee Finance Shared Services, including Accounting, Audit, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Treasury.
  • Implement and drive a Finance Business Partnership model to maximize return on investment and achieve financial objectives.
  • Manage all external reporting requirements, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Oversee domestic and international tax obligations, including regulatory requirements.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
  • Champion process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Lead the analysis, review, and implementation of new accounting standards.

About You


You are a dynamic and strategic finance leader with a passion for driving business performance through financial excellence. With a collaborative approach, you excel at building relationships, influencing stakeholders, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Bring:

  • A degree in accounting or a related field, along with CPA or CA certification.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to educate, influence, and provide commercial insights.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting standards and their application to TA and MAs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements, including fringe benefits tax and GST.
  • Experience working with integrated ERP systems and finance policies.
  • A current (or willingness to obtain) Police Check and Working with Children Check.
