About the Role:
We have an exciting permanent full-time opportunity in our Transformational Gifts team for a Relationship Manager, Middle Donors to be based out of our Blackburn, Melbourne office with hybrid working arrangements.
This role will focus on the successful management of a multi-million dollar portfolio of philanthropic supporters, with every dollar contributing to the critical Mission and frontline services of The Salvation Army, by building and stewarding relationships with them.
Experience in fundraising or sales is critical to the success of this position!
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage and nurture relationships within a substantial portfolio of loyal supporters, consisting of hundreds of dedicated individuals
· Develop and maintain strong, long-term, relationships with supporters through personalised stewardship plans ensuring they feel valued and informed about the impact of their contributions
· Provide regular and meaningful updates on organisational programs, success stories, and how donations are used, while aligning communications with the supporter’s preferences, interest and giving history
· Identify new opportunities for recognition and engagement through tailored events and program visits to progress the supporter’s journey with The Salvation Army
· Maintain accurate supporter records and track engagement through CRM systems, ensuring timely and relevant updates to supporters whilst conducting regular review and analysis of Middle Donor portfolio, providing valuable reporting to inform future strategies and revenue potential
· Develop a base of potential supporters by qualifying leads and actively cultivating relationships, while focusing on donor retention, fostering growth and addressing any concerns to ensure a positive and rewarding experience
About you:
· 3-5 years of experience in relationship management, fundraising, sales or similar roles in the nonprofit or charity sector, with proven success in achieving results through relationship building and tailored engagement activities across diverse supporter groups
· Exceptional verbal, written, and persuasive communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, make people feel at ease, and engage with individuals from all backgrounds effectively
· Ability to use data and insights to tailor donor engagement strategies, meet fundraising targets, and drive meaningful connections with supporters from diverse communities
· Highly organized, with excellent time-management and multitasking abilities, capable of working independently under pressure while managing multiple priorities simultaneously
· High levels of emotional intelligence, compassion, and professionalism, with a self-motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic attitude, embracing innovation, agility, and a genuine interest in making an impact across diverse initiatives and communities
