The Opportunity:

As Sephora's Corporate Accountant, you will oversee the end-to-end accounting functions, including the maintenance of the General Ledger for the Company’s Australian operations, balance sheet management process as well as other statutory reporting requirements.

Reporting

  • Processing monthly journals, including analysis of journals - preparation, review and delivery of year-end financial statements, meeting all statutory reporting obligations
  • Supporting of the Company’s local, regional and global reporting requirements
  • Liaising with external auditors and suppliers, providing information as required
  • Supporting tax planning and compliance
  • Supporting the preparation of monthly P&L, working capital and cash flow forecasts

Audit

  • Supporting Planning and coordination of audits
  • Managing and assisting external audit teams to ensure efficient and timely audits

Vendor and brand management

  • Partnering with shared service centre team to resolve any invoice pricing discrepancies
  • Partnering with the Company’s regional shared service centre to ensure all local requirements are met in a timely manner

Cost control

  • Supporting preparation of monthly cash flows - Operational controlling based on approved budget/forecast and in accordance with approval processes in place at any given time
  • Supporting cash management, including general banking, cash investments and short and long term cash forecasting
  • Coordinating the quarterly asset planning process in conjunction with the Management team - Manage the Company’s CAPEX procedures and reporting
  • Undertaking CAPEX and OPEX analysis, examining operating costs and the organisation’s income and expenditure

Budgeting and forecasting

  • Supporting delivery of annual budget process for Sephora Australia
  • Delivery of quarterly forecasting for assigned districts
  • Supporting with Monthly Departmental Reporting

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • 4+ years experience in a similar standalone role within a high volume fast paced environment
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Professional qualification such as CPA or CA required
  • Big 4 Experience (preferred but not essential)
  • Proven experience with practical financial management and delivering strategic financial advice
  • Experience with SAP (preferred but not essential)
  • Demonstrated experience preparing monthly management accounts, inclusive of supporting reconciliations
  • A strong understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Advanced excel skills
