As a Sous Chef in our Pastry operation, you will support our Executive Pastry Chef Herbert Tossmann and assist with leading the team, always ensuring consistency in high quality product and service standards.

A few of your responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of daily operations, payroll, costs, and guest satisfaction
  • Participate in preparation of menus
  • Assist with rostering and leave applications
  • Develop training plans and support daily learning
  • Participate in shift briefings to ensure a smooth handover

What are we looking for:

  • Senior Chef experience required in a 5-star environment or high volume pastry operation
  • Previous experience in a high-quality food operation (highly regarded)
  • Experience driving quality and consistency, with a passion for a diverse range of food and a keen desire for continuous learning
  • Ability to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchens
  • Previous knowledge of food and labour cost controls
  • A warm, naturally engaging personality that takes pride in delivering a memorable product
  • Basic computer skills essential
  • Full working rights to commit to 40 hours a week which can include day shifts, evenings, weekend and public holidays
