ZA ZA TA is a place where worlds and cultures collide amongst a sprawling, colonial backdrop and buzzing open kitchen focused on ethical eating and conscious cuisine. The team are bringing the soulful vibe of Tel Aviv, a blend of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, with a distinctly modern twist to centuries-old flavours.

The Gig
Reporting to the Head Chef, as our Sous Chef at ZA ZA TA you are the master of food execution, working with your team to create incredible experiences that align with our culinary vision.

You’re a leader who loves to show T.L.C to your people helping them to find their true calling and unlocking their star quality. And it’s not just a great dish that you can deliver, you can deliver a solid financial result too. This is a Full-Time role and will require flexibility within availability. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all dishes leaving the kitchen are of the highest quality, meeting and exceeding our guests' expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and inspire kitchen staff to maintain the highest levels of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Menu Consistency: Collaborate closely with our culinary team to maintain menu consistency and make necessary adjustments as per seasonal availability and customer feedback.
  • Cost Control: Monitor food costs and work towards achieving budgeted food cost percentages while maintaining quality.
  • Sustainability: Promote sustainable practices in the kitchen and sourcing ingredients responsibly.
