We are seeking an experienced public sector property and protective security professional to join the Property and Security team located at the Reef Authority's main office in Townsville. This position provides support to the Business Operations team in all aspects of sustainable property management, protective security, and business continuity. This role provides a corporate service to the whole-of-agency.The position supervises and supports key elements of the Property Services team to ensure that strategic objectives are achieved. This includes coordinating day-to-day service delivery including workflow, maintenance contracts, and supervision of Reef Authority's Property Services providers. Additionally, the role is responsible for contributing to innovation and business improvement strategies and assisting the Reef Authority in fulfilling its obligations under the Protective Security Policy Framework and Sustainable Procurement Framework and Policy.
This is an office-based position located in Townsville providing frontline services to staff and stakeholders contacting the Reef Authority with a variety of requests. Due to operational requirements, there are no working from home arrangements available for this position.
You will be a team player, working closely and collaboratively with the broader Business Operations team, and a diverse network of stakeholders in the coordination, delivery and reporting of the Reef Authority's property and security portfolio.
The key duties of the position include
- Supervise support officers to proactively manage and coordinate service delivery and continuous improvements across the Reef Authority's Property Management Services, Protective Security, and Business Continuity arrangements in line with Agile methodologies. This includes supervision of contractors on site when required.
- Participate in the effective implementation of the Reef Authority's Sustainability Programs by promoting and engaging in sustainability practices and initiatives across the Property Services section.
- Support the Reef Authority in meeting its obligations under the Protective Security Policy Framework by assisting the Chief Security Officer, Security Advisors, and the Security Governance Committee as required
- Represent the Reef Authority and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Supervise the day-to-day performance of the Reef Authority's Property Services' providers, including reporting requirements, to advance the Reef Authority's objectives and milestones related to property services.
- Routinely examine workflows for improvement opportunities. Ensure that the Property Services' Manual provides clear and precise procedures and instructions that define all aspects of Property Services tasks.
- Coordinate and prepare high-quality advice and written materials that are timely, practical, transparent, and risk-based. Monitor program outcomes, analyse expenditure against budgets, assist with contract management, and report on performance within the work area.
