This role provides an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team in the National Parks and Wildlife Service responsible for implementing the Bounceback Program - a multi-region threat abatement and species conservation project in South Australia's arid and semi-arid rangelands. The duties of the role include: managing and implementing threat abatement projects; undertaking related monitoring and species assessments; providing professional direction to a small number of project staff including volunteers and/or external contractors; and managing project data and related reporting activities. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, and effective written and verbal communication will be key to the role as the Bounceback Ecologist will engage directly with stakeholders and project partners and also be responsible for preparing a wide range of documents including, project plans, technical documents and public communication materials. The role requires field work in remote locations. A broad knowledge of South Australia's biodiversity, ecology and conservation issues, and threat management techniques is also required.
