About the role
Carpentaria has exciting opportunities for Occupational Therapists to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. In this role you will work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to deliver person-centred services to enhance participation and independence, empowering people with a disability to live a full life and achieve their goals.
We have positions available in Darwin working as part of our remote clinical team delivering Occupational Therapy services across remote communities in the Top End and Central Australia.
Responsibilities include:
- Working in a culturally diverse environment, providing contemporary, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services, including assessment, individualised treatment planning and evaluation for people presenting with a wide range of conditions and syndromes
- Provide independent, specialist and clinical input into treatment planning, development and delivery of core business
- Working collaboratively with families/caregivers to assess, plan, implement and review targeted and meaningful developmental therapy
- Leading and contributing to the development of individual and group programs within Carpentaria Therapy Service areas
About you
This position is open to candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment. We are looking for someone with experience in the delivery of Occupational Therapy services within a disability sector context, with the ability to develop individualised strategies and clinical management plans that are responsive to the person’s needs and in line with their goals.
You will have a positive attitude and be adaptive and flexible to the changing needs of clients, NDIS and the organisation. Throughout your work you will build on strengths, and where challenges arise, you will approach them collaboratively, in partnership with families, carers, teachers and colleagues.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
- Experience working with people with complex needs and challenging behaviours
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Experience in implementing evidence-based frameworks and delivering holistic supports
- An understanding of working within the NDIS environment
You will also need to hold (or have the ability to obtain) a current Ochre Card, Criminal History Check, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, First Aid certificate, evidence of Australian work rights, and an NT Drivers Licence.
