About the Role

As a Senior Technical Officer in Radiation Engineering, you’ll play a key role in supporting the precise and safe operation of advanced radiotherapy equipment within the Central Northern Adelaide Health Service region. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll use your expertise to manage the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of both mechatronic and electrical components, ensuring the optimal performance of vital systems such as low and high voltage power supplies, RF, and microwave systems. You’ll also contribute to the development and maintenance of software systems that support technical services and monitor equipment performance.

In this position, you will take on significant responsibility, working independently while adhering to the highest industry standards and departmental guidelines. You’ll support the design, manufacture, and repair of mechanical devices and related radiation therapy equipment, ensuring that all systems are functioning reliably and cost-effectively. When the Principal and Assistant Principal Technical Officers are absent, you’ll step up to manage the efficient operation of the department, ensuring continuity of high-quality service delivery.

About You

To thrive in this role, you'll bring a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. You should have:

  • A relevant technical qualification in Fitter and Turner or Electronics Engineering.
  • Proven ability to work independently or within a team, solving complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse teams.
  • Extensive experience in maintaining and repairing medical radiation therapy equipment.
