Ready for an exciting challenge? Whitsunday Regional Council is seeking a proactive Works Supervisor to lead the maintenance, construction, and defect reporting of our roads and drainage assets. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily activities of assigned work crews in relation to road and drainage construction and repairs, under the guidance of the Works Coordinator.
- Ensure that Traffic Management Plans are provided for all daily projects to ensure the safety of the public and work teams.
- Perform asset inspections as required by the Works Coordinator to assess condition and compliance.
Operational Accountabilities :
- Collaborate with the Assets Inspector to develop and maintain the asset management system for roads and drainage.
- Conduct regular defect inspections of the road and drainage network and maintain a defects backlog for future repairs.
- Assist the Works Coordinator in developing work programs based on the defects backlog database.
- Regularly assess the condition of Whitsunday Regional Council’s roads and drainage assets.
- Oversee handover inspections for developed assets coming off maintenance.
- Manage the Road Works Permit system, including approving driveway permits, conducting inspections, and ensuring proper acceptance procedures.
Your skills and experience:
Essential
- Class MR Driver’s Licence (or willingness to obtain)
- Construction Safety Induction (White card)
- Traffic Control Ticket (or willingness to obtain)
- Traffic Management Implementation (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision
- 5 years supervisory experience
- Multiple plant competencies
