Aqua Energy Group are restructuring to accommodate recent growth and are seeking to hire a Lead or Senior Electrical Engineer within our National Projects Team. This will be a dynamic position supporting the implementation of robust change control processes and documentation standards. This role will be based in Mackay and may involve site visits.
The Lead or Senior Electrical Engineer responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Electrical Engineering design of MV, LV, underground mining, and custom switchgear solutions, including certification.
- Electrical Engineering design of MV/LV pump control systems, including certification.
- PLC programming expertise for pump control systems
- Manage the Engineering execution and Engineering activities at Aqua Energy Group to ensure high quality, fit for purpose products are delivered to the client on time and within the allowed budget.
- Communicate effectively with all staff and departments, aiding and / or directing as required.
- Interact and communicate openly and honestly with clients, ensuring that we exhibit a high level of professionalism and earnestness.
- Provide leadership and direction to a small team of Designers, Engineers, and Draftspersons to align engineering design deliverables with standards of process for RPEQ certification.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Projects Teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards.
- Prepare / Review technical drawings and documentation.
- If required, conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Provide technical support and expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Our new Team Member will have the following :
- Bachelor Degree of Electrical Engineering with relevant previous experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role, extensive industry experience with various forms of low and medium voltage control & distributions systems. Relevant experience in pumping control systems & PLC equipment
- RPEQ / CPEng / NER Professional Development levels as a member of Engineers Australia – Preferred
- Fluent English (written and spoken), Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Advanced computer and troubleshooting skills. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Project; AutoCAD, Protection Relay Programming / Testing, other relevant engineering software packages (eg SKM PTW, Power CAD, Earth Mat, etc).
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- The ability to influence and build a relationship with a range of stakeholders at all levels of a business.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Right to work in Australia.
