Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• $37-$42 per hour.
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Experience with Epilepsy, Mental Health, CP and ABI highly regarded
• MUST have NDIS Screening Card, Valid First Aid and CPR
Residential Care Officer:
Dignified Disabilities is a boutique agency with a passion for service and genuine care for our clients. Our expanding business is looking for Support Workers in the Gold Coast/Logan and out to Cleveland areas.
Looking For:
We are seeking a Residential Care Officer who is compassionate, dedicated, and motivated to support individuals with disabilities and aged care needs. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and a commitment to empowering clients to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess client's needs and create individualized care and support programs.
- Develop and implement training and educational activities to enhance clients' skills and independence.
- Conduct client interviews to identify challenges and provide tailored solutions.
- Monitor client progress, prepare detailed reports, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Refer clients to appropriate external agencies for additional assistance and specialized care.
- Assess community needs and resources to enhance access to health, welfare, housing, and training services.
- Collaborate with community groups, welfare organizations, and government agencies to address client needs
and raise awareness of available resources.
- Provide direct care and support for children, families, and individuals with disabilities in group housing and service units.
- Assist young individuals in overcoming social, emotional, and financial difficulties to promote personal development.
- Prepare funding proposals, resource requests, and formal reports to secure support from relevant agencies.
- Supervise and guide clients in compliance with safety and care standards, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Skills and Attributes: -
- Diploma, Advance diploma or bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working in community services or a similar field.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to residential care services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of NDIS processes, and compliance requirements is an advantage
