Your New Role
Essendon Volkswagen have an immediate and career advancing opportunity for an experienced Qualified Motor Mechanic/Automotive Technician to join our vibrant Service team!
With no two days the same, you will be confident in servicing, inspecting and repairing all vehicles while ensuring all work meets Volkswagen’s high-quality standards. You will be a qualified & knowledgeable technician/mechanic and have a proven background in servicing, maintenance repairs, diagnostics, fault finding and repairing as well as general vehicle reconditioning.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Perform scheduled services, major services, repairs and maintenance in line with manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Accurately diagnose and document service repairs and warranty work.
- Conduct road tests and perform thorough quality control inspections.
- Stay informed about the latest dealer product range and provide expert mechanical and diagnostic guidance.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team and stakeholders, explaining vehicle issues, required repairs, and future maintenance needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment while ensuring the proper use of tools and specialised equipment.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented culture within the workshop.
- Support and mentor technicians by sharing knowledge and offering technical assistance as needed.
Attributes to be successful in this role;
- Minimum 3 years experience as a qualified Automotive Technician/Motor Mechanic.
- Proven track record in a dealership or busy workshop environment.
- Volkswagen experience is highly regarded.
- Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology is mandatory
- Must hold a valid Victorian Driver’s licence.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components, as well as sound knowledge of Victorian roadworthy regulations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, conscientious, and adaptable, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
