Description:
We are seeking a Senior Policy Officer, to play a key role in drafting and updating policy documents, process mapping, and providing technical advice for the a critical project for Queenslanders. This position offers a flexible work arrangement with a mix of office-based and remote work, and occasional travel for training or stakeholder engagement.Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the development and implementation of technical advice, project plans and strategic policy.
- Conducting and coordinating substantial high-level research, data analysis and review of complex policy and regulatory issues, by undertaking environmental scanning, jurisdictional comparisons and data collection to support development and implementation of new policy initiatives.
- Providing proactive advice on the application and implementation of government policies, strategies, and guidelines that relate to flood data and the project.
- Preparing and/or overseeing the preparation of complex submissions, briefing notes, Cabinet submissions, project documentation, process maps, reports and correspondence supporting the complex functions of the project
- Managing multiple competing priorities and work either as part of a team, or individually, to deliver workloads on time and which meet customer’s expectations.
- Exercising judgment, authority and high-level influence to effectively coordinate the management of client requirements and competing team priorities.
- Assisting in the review of guidelines, tools and templates including to ensure they are contemporary and reflective of best practice, and practically implement the government’s objectives, targets, and commitments.
- Facilitating and supporting calibration and decision meetings across a range of service delivery areas.
