Reporting to the Regional VP Engineering, the regional Engineering Director – Capital Project Management will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the execution of major capital projects across the APACSA (Asia Pacific & South Africa) region. The role involves supporting Project Managers to adhere to company standards, providing hands-on project execution leadership for key initiatives and championing processes to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budgets with a strong focus on Engineering Design, Technology, Construction, sustainability and environmental considerations and with a strong safety and food safety culture.
Accountabilities:
- Successful execution of major projects within the region, meeting time, budget, and quality targets
- Effective implementation of the latest engineering standards and innovations
- Promotion and maintenance of a strong safety and food safety culture
- Effective support for Project Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence
- Accurate and timely reporting of project performance and progress
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of experience in capital project management, (min.10 years in a leadership role)
- Proven track record of delivering large, complex capital projects in manufacturing or food processing environments
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, safety practices, and environmental regulations
- Demonstrated expertise in project governance, risk management, and financial oversight
- Ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams across diverse locations.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region to support project execution and site teams
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
