Description:

The purpose of the role is to steward, retain, and gain further financial support and engagement of mid-level individual and corporate supporters.
With the objective of engaging donors, deepening relationships, and shepherding these supporters towards higher levels of giving, this role involves working with the Manager, Philanthropy to carry out engagement plans, monitor performance and involvement in financial campaign strategies and solicitation.
This position plays an integral role in ensuring the organisation has the funding it needs to continue preventing cruelty to animals and be financially sustainable, in accordance with RSPCA NSW Strategic Plans.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a select pool of donors and on a smaller scale, businesses.
  • Call donors and businesses to thank them for their support, ask their reason for supporting, etc, within a week of a gift being made.
  • Be donor and business point person for all their enquiries relating to RSPCA NSW
  • Engage, retain and upgrade mid-level individual donors giving $500-$2000 annually, as well as businesses contributing via workplace giving, workplace fundraisers and in-kind.
  • Drafting emails – both automated and organic to push out a range of messages, including but not limited to, latest organisational updates and funding impact.
  • Coordinate a range of events – including but not limited to the Annual donor Thank-A-Thon, End of Year Christmas Mingle and facility tours.
  • Work with other departments to identify cross-functional opportunities for donor and business engagement and solicitation.
  • Engage in solicitation with the team during key campaigns – e.g. Christmas and End of Financial Year appeals, workplace Cupcake Day fundraisers.
  • Monitor reporting of donor and business information, including tracking communications such as thank you letters, enquiries, and events.
  • Regularly clean donor and business data to maintain data hygiene and record accuracy.
  • Respond to donor or business enquiries through group inboxes, process and receipt donations/funds received and coordinate in-kind distribution.
  • Build positive, cohesive relationships with colleagues inside and outside the fundraising department.

  • Comply with all RSPCA NSW policies and procedures, as implemented, varied or replaced from time to time
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant area (desired)
Experience:
  • Minimum one year experience in not-for-profit
  • Minimum one year experience in fundraising, communications, marketing or equivalent (desired).
  • Project management experience.
  • Proven success/exposure to coordination of events.
  • Experience in CRM – Salesforce advantageous.
  • Relationship building, personal communications
