THE OPPORTUNITY
Boeing Defence Australia is at the forefront of delivering critical capabilities for the Australian Defence Force across air, land, and sea platforms. As part of this capability growth, Boeing Defence Australia is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the delivery additional capability to the Wakulda Program.
In this role, you will utilize your systems engineering expertise and leadership skills to support a multidisciplinary engineering team throughout the entire lifecycle of engineering changes, from initial proposal development and design conception to the integration of changes onto the platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
* Develop and document moderately complex requirements through drawings, data sets, reports, specifications, and supporting data.
* Create designs based on defined requirements
* Test and validate designs to ensure they meet operational and functional requirements.
* Monitor supplier performance to ensure integration and compliance with requirements.
* Resolve moderately complex issues related to product integration and production anomalies.
* Develop and progress change management artifacts.
* Serve as the interface for customers and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of engineering and technical requirements, while communicating the engineering status of project deliverables.
* Manage design through system engineering reviews and the business gate process, including:
* Options analysis
* Design definition
* Development approval
* Integration and verification
* Delivery
* Closeout
* Collaborate with the project team to ensure the engineering scope is delivered within quality, schedule, and budget constraints.
* Work with the project team to identify, mitigate, and manage technical and project risks associated with capability delivery.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in complex technical development and integration projects.
* A solid understanding of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management, including mandated system reviews.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and customers.
* Experience in developing and executing Systems Engineering artefacts, including Systems Engineering Management Plans and Verification and Validation Plans.
* Familiarity with Change Management processes and the progression of change management artefacts.
* Experience in technical problem-solving.
* Experience in aerospace and/or defense projects, and have NV1 Clearance.
* Experience supporting projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment is highly regarded.
