Description:

The Jinibara People Aboriginal Corporation (JPAC) represents the native title holders of Jinibara country, overseeing cultural heritage protection, governance, and community development.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead the operational activities of Jinibara Services. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this pivotal role will ensure the effective management of people, programs, budgets, and strategic initiatives, delivering positive outcomes for the Jinibara community.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, legal compliance, and cultural integrity.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and sustainability.
  • Identify funding opportunities, including grants, to expand services.
  • Manage budgets, financial reporting, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, risk management, and workplace health and safety standards.
  • Build strong relationships with government bodies, clients, and key stakeholders.
About You:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (essential).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong financial and operational management skills, including budget oversight.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal communities and a deep understanding of cultural heritage.
  • Proven ability to identify and secure government funding and grants.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of WHS and industrial relations regulations.
Desirable:
  • Understanding of Native Title laws
  • Previous experience working with an indigenous corporation.
  • Experience in project management methodologies.
