Your new role
This role will drive the design, development, and implementation of innovative, data-centric solutions across our organisation. It will also provide the architecture for projects spanning core platform systems, data analytics, client engagement, and ecosystem integration.

This new permanent full-time role can be based in JANA’s Melbourne or Sydney office and report to the General Manager, Technology & Data.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Solution Design & Development:
  • Architect and deliver robust solutions across core platforms, leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and AWS.
  • Collaborate with partner vendors to design, develop, and deploy scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Ensure consistent cross-domain data management practices across multiple business functions, aligning with enterprise data strategies.
  • Optimise workflows for data acquisition, hosting, and consumption to enhance operational efficiency and performance.
  • Develop and manage architectural frameworks and blueprints for digital, systems, data, and information architecture.
  • Implement and review domain data models in line with Medallion architecture principles.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  • Advise stakeholders on the future state of the digital ecosystem, aligning with business goals, data excellence, and operational efficiency.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, ensuring innovative solutions are incorporated into organisational practices.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making by integrating advanced analytics and scalable data architectures.
• Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Mentor and guide junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to define project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems, ensuring optimal functionality and exceptional user experiences.

About you
Equally challenging and rewarding, this opportunity is perfect for someone with:

• 10+ years in solution architecture, data modelling, data management, system integration, and quality assurance.
• 10+ years in capital markets with a deep understanding of securities, assets, funds, benchmarks, performance calculations, and trading.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Synapse Studio, Data Factory, Power BI, and DevOps.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS services, including S3, EC2, and ECS.
• Proficiency in full-stack development and cloud-based architectures.
• Proficiency in SQL, C# and Python
• Strong knowledge of Medallion architecture and data governance principles.
• Expertise in optimising data pipelines and workflows across diverse platforms.
