The Role
As an Aviation Safety Assurance Officer, you are responsible to the Director of Continuing Airworthiness for planning, leading and reporting of continuing airworthiness oversight and enforcement activities. The role requires the review of complex technical issues and the execution of appropriate technical delegations.
The successful applicant will be required to actively manage, build and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders within Defence and commercial organisations. Additionally, the ability to identify relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve safety outcomes.
You will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of
aviation continuing airworthiness assurance.
Multiple positions (ongoing) are currently available within the Defence Aviation Safety Authority.
About our Team
You will be working as part of a small team within the DCA Continuing Airworthiness Assurance section, responsible for managing allocated approved organisations and aviation platforms in their continued compliance to the DASRs.
This involves the review of complex technical documentation and the provision of regulation advice to the aviation safety community, promoting and providing education of the DASRs as required, performing formal reviews of organisation products and making recommendations for approval.
Routine oversight and enforcement of organisations is a key component of the team's function and will require travel for onsite visits.

They will understand aviation design and maintenance, they will want to work in a strong collaborative team and ability to engage and build strong relationships with a diverse range of smart exciting people.

Eligibility Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
