About the role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Manager to join our team in Sunshine North, Australia . Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing the site’s quality systems and procedures. Your role will ensure that we manufacture and supply quality products to our customers across several markets, including Coil, Packaging, Wood, Marine Protective and Yacht coatings, Decorative, and Powder Coatings.
What you will do:

Plan, lead, organise, and control the delivery of the Quality department’s contributions to the site’s objectives. Focus on safety, quality, service, and cost.

Identify and respond effectively to hazards in safety, health, security, and environment. Ensure the well-being of people, plant, and procedures.

Walk the talk by living the AkzoNobel values. Work across functions to drive the site and AN strategy for improved performance.

Ensure ISC strategy is cascaded to the quality team effectively. Align focus and escalate issues to senior management as needed.

Support site efforts to create a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, accountability, and professionalism.

Develop a strong talent bench for key positions. Enhance talent development and engagement.

Investigate and report technical/non-technical complaints. Implement corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.

Develop and maintain the site’s Quality System in line with external standards and internal requirements.
What we are looking for:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry (or related fields).
-
Previous experience in laboratory or Quality Control role (preferably in a manufacturing environment).

exceptional leadership and communication skills.

a passion for leading based on critical characteristics, measurement system analysis, design of experiments, process capability, lean, six sigma, monitoring, and value streams
-
able to work independently, possess strong team-building skills, demonstrate analytical and complex problem-solving abilities.

be proficient with MS operating systems and software.

have competence in statistical analysis.
