About Us:

We are currently looking for both Cooks and Food Services Assistants to join our team for various casual and block booking opportunities across multiple locations in Tasmania.
Roles & Responsibilities:
For Cooks:

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals for residents, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
• Manage food preparation, portion control, and cooking schedules.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Assist with menu planning and inventory control as required.

For Food Services Assistants (FSAs):

• Assist in meal service delivery to residents, ensuring meals are presented appealingly and at the correct temperature.
• Support cooks in food preparation and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Manage residents’ dietary requirements and preferences, ensuring their meals are served promptly and correctly.
• Help with dishwashing, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining a tidy environment.

Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in food preparation or food services, ideally in aged care or healthcare settings.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• For Cooks: Certificate in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (preferred).
• Experience in catering for special dietary needs (e.g., diabetic, gluten-free) is a plus.
• For FSAs: Previous experience in food services, customer service, or kitchen assistance is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A caring and empathetic attitude towards elderly residents.
• Flexibility to work on casual or block booking assignments.
