The role


A fixed term position is now available for an experience Humanities Teacher/Curriculum Leader (CL role attracts position of responsibility allowance). The role is a parental leave position available from the commencement of term 2 until the end of the school year (2025).


The successful candidate will have:



  • the desire to teach in an environment where both Christian values and academic excellence are emphasised
  • Passionate about teaching the next generation
  • relevant qualifications with VIT registration and commitment to professional learning
  • proven record of field-work experience and/or relevant tertiary qualifications

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assess students' skills to design a flexible, personalised Humanities curriculum that addresses their unique needs and goals.
  • Develop and implement research-based learning programs, using formative assessments to adapt instruction and enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Continuously improve teaching strategies and activities by integrating student feedback and assessment data to refine lesson plans and delivery.
  • Create student-centred activities that encourage exploration and innovation in product design, fostering the practical application of theoretical concepts.
  • Establish high expectations to cultivate a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment, promoting creativity and problem-solving.

Skills and Experience:



  • Proven experience teaching Humanities to students in Years 7-12.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering both academic and personal growth in students.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex design concepts and engage effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Dedicated to ongoing professional development, staying current with trends in Humanities and maintaining a proactive approach to teaching.
  • Experience teaching VCE Global Empires is desirable.
