Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled DataStage Developer to design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using IBM DataStage. The ideal candidate will have experience in data integration, transformation, and performance optimization to support enterprise data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement ETL solutions using IBM InfoSphere DataStage .
- Extract, transform, and load data from various structured and unstructured sources into target databases or data warehouses.
- Optimize and troubleshoot ETL processes to improve performance and reliability.
- Work with business analysts, data architects, and database administrators to understand data requirements and ensure high data quality.
- Develop and maintain job schedules, scripts, and automation for ETL workflows.
- Perform unit testing, system integration testing, and support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) .
- Monitor data loads, identify bottlenecks, and apply performance tuning techniques.
- Document ETL processes, data mappings, and workflow designs.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in developing ETL solutions using IBM DataStage .
- Strong understanding of SQL, PL/SQL , and relational databases ( Oracle )
- Experience in data warehousing, data modelling, and ETL best practices .
- Proficiency in working with large datasets and complex data transformations .
- Hands-on experience with performance tuning, debugging, and optimization of ETL processes.
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux scripting and scheduling tools ( Control-M, Autosys, or Cron jobs ).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP) and Big Data technologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- IBM DataStage certification .
- Exposure to agile methodologies and DevOps practices .
- Familiarity with Python, or other data engineering tools .
