Location: Benalla Electorate OfficeAbout the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Electorate Officer to support the Member for Euroa in delivering excellent constituent service, managing office operations, and engaging with the community.
This role requires exceptional organisational skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to handle a diverse range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
Constituent Services & Community Engagement
* Provide high-level support to constituents by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and liaising with government departments and agencies.
* Assist in drafting correspondence, petitions, and briefing notes on behalf of the Member.
* Develop and maintain a strong network of local contacts to support the Member's advocacy efforts.
* Plan and oversee the operation of public events, community functions, and meetings.
* Take a proactive role in representing the Member on local issues.
Office & Parliamentary Support
* Manage the Member's diary, appointments, and scheduling.
* Oversee office administration, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with policies, and financial accountability.
* Perform accounts payable activities within delegation.
* Develop and maintain databases, records, and reporting systems.
* Ensure security protocols and workplace health and safety procedures are adhered to.
* Research and prepare briefing documents, reports, and speeches.
* Draft questions and submissions for parliamentary proceedings as required.
Stakeholder & Media Liaison
* Maintain effective communication with government departments, local councils, and key stakeholders.
* Monitor media coverage and provide reports on trends and issues affecting the electorate.
* Collaborate with community organizations, businesses, and advocacy groups to support policy initiatives.
Under Section 30 of the Parliamentary Administration Act 2005 Electorate Officers must not perform any party specific activities. Party specific activity means any activity for the dominant purpose of directing how a person should vote at an election, by promoting or opposing the election of any candidate at the election; or a registered political party; or an elected member.

We are seeking an applicant with:
* Proven experience in administrative or constituent service roles, ideally in government, community, or customer-facing environments.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive matters.
* Understanding of government processes, policy, and parliamentary procedures (preferred but not essential).
Job Type and Salary
Electorate Officer salaries are set out in the Electorate Officers (Victoria) Single Enterprise Agreement 2021.
This is an ongoing, part-time role, structured as either three days or four days per week, making it ideal for a candidate looking for flexibility while maintaining a rewarding and impactful position in the community. A six-month probationary period will apply.
Grade 2: $83,469 per annum (pro rata) plus 11.5% employer superannuation. Pre-Employment Screening requirements
All appointments are subject to receipt of a satisfactory National Name (Police) Check and Working with Children Check. Successful candidates who do not currently hold a Working with Children Check will be required to obtain a check within 3 months of commencement of employment.
