Description:
Our client is part of a large global company in the service industry, known for its excellent reputation and credibility. Due to business expansion, they are seeking a Senior Accountant to join their close-knit team in Melbourne.
This is initially a six-month fixed-term contract , with the potential to transition into a permanent role.
The Role
- Your work would be split between financial and management accounting with a strong element of Business Partnering.
- You will report to the departmental head.
- Occasional interstate travel required
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Execute routine accounting processes to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Prepare analytical reports for presentation to senior management.
- Develop financial forecasts, including cash flow projections.
- Oversee the processing and management of employee obligations, such as payroll tax, FBT, and submissions.
- Review and approve bank transactions.
- Manage project accounting as required.
- Educate internal stakeholders on financial literacy, including cost management, efficiencies, and business strategy support.
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.
As an ideal candidate:
- Must have 5 + years of accounting experience in Australia
- Prefer Business partnering experience and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- CA/CPA qualified
- Experience in working with ERP systems - SAP/ Oracle D 365
- Must be a strong communicator.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with Navision is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical skills and data interpretation
