About the role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Clinical Bioinformatician to contribute to the delivery of high-throughput genetic testing technologies. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining genome analysis pipelines for diagnostic applications, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in genomic data processing. You will also play a key role in the strategic development of our service by providing expert advice on genomics and bioinformatics, helping to advance cutting-edge diagnostic capabilities.
Classification for this role will be based on experience and skills. At a senior level, you will take on additional responsibilities within the Technology Advancement Unit , including developing scalable platforms for clinical and genetic data storage, analysis, and exchange. You will collaborate on refining algorithms for mapping and analysing human genomic data while also guiding and directing other staff to drive innovation in cancer services. About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Bioinformatician who thrives in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment. You will have a strong technical background in bioinformatics and human genome analysis, along with the ability to communicate complex information effectively to a range of stakeholders.
- Technical Expertise & Experience: Proven experience in bioinformatics, human genome analysis, coding, software development, and pipeline implementation.
- Attention to Detail & Problem-Solving: Exceptional accuracy and precision in analysing complex genomic data, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge & Compliance: Sound understanding of genome analysis techniques, next-generation sequencing platforms, human genome biology, and the pathology or healthcare industry.
