About the Opportunity
The Senior Tooling Calibration Officer will lead the calibration of tooling required for building the SSN AUKUS at the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Construction Yard (NPSCY) at Osborne, South Australia. The role will be responsible for developing the Calibration Plan for the site tooling and equipment, establish and maintain the calibration systems and processes, develop and maintain calibration records, and work with procurement teams to ensure timely calibration services.
This role represents a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia.
This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate records of calibration activities and performance specifications for tooling and ensure the review of calibration schedules, training plans, and reports.
- Build and maintain technical registers and databases
- Execution of all compliance and certification processes, ensuring compliance with relevant standards
- Identify and provide technical input associated with the calibration of equipment in accordance with standards and best practice
- Identify issues, solve problems, and complete tasks with minimum supervision
- Ensure calibration certificates for compliance are defined to standards and specifications
- Integrate security, safety, and ICT requirements into calibration processes and documentation to ensure compliance
- Operational lead for procurement actives for the setting up & maintaining of calibration contracts
About you
- Advanced Diploma or Trade Certificate in a relevant discipline; or relevant calibration/maintenance experience
- Comprehensive understanding of calibration standards, systems & processes.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills coupled with professional and constructive engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience working with a team of technical personnel in complex and industrial environments.
- Effective time management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities, coupled with leadership and management skills
- Proven decision- making ability across multidisciplinary teams
- Accurate and effective reporting and documentation processes
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
