As Senior Development Manager, Business Development, you are responsible for establishing new projects, with a focus on front end/acquisition and investigation of projects, through to business case approval and early implementation.
You will:
- Formulate preliminary development strategies including business cases, feasibility studies and assessments, delivery approaches, key site acquisition agreements, planning framework approaches, project formulation and strategy, and development staging and timeframes.
- Provide strategic advice to the Minister, Chief Executive Officer, Economic Development Board and Executive Leadership team.
- Lead projects to ensure appropriate governance and risk management, adherence to agreed timeframes, budget and quality parameters and the timely review of projects and benefit realisation.
- Manage strategic relationships, community engagement, consultation and significant negotiations with various levels of government, community representatives and development partners.
- Develop and manage productive relationships with key stakeholders for the acquisition of new sites.
- Manage the preparation of and contribute to the development of competitive tender documents to secure development partners.
- Lead, monitor and evaluate Business Development's performance and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Lead a team of property professionals with diverse skill sets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and promoting innovation.
- Build team capacity and capability through supporting ongoing training and development in the team, providing mentorship and effectively managing performance to ensure high standards are met.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive, senior experience in the leadership of project formation and acquisition of new projects in the mixed-use, residential, industrial, rural or enterprise environments with successful formation and maintenance of productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive project pipeline initiatives and support government priorities.
- A record of successful delivery in establishing new projects from project formulation through to business case approval and financial close in one or more stages of development across the spectrum including feasibility, due diligence, business case, stakeholder management, planning, design, construction, leasing/sales, marketing asset management and handover/closeout. and resource management.
